FINDING MY VOICE

For a long time, I found it much easier to write what I wanted to say than to say it out loud.

Writing gave me time. I could think, go back, change a word, and make sure what I meant was actually there.

Speaking was different. Put me on the spot and sometimes the words disappeared.

Being involved with Epilesode has started to change that.

Through conversations, podcasts and simply being included, I’ve been learning that I don’t have to speak perfectly to have something worth saying.

I can pause. I can lose my place. I can try again.

And little by little, I’m becoming more comfortable using my voice instead of only relying on text.

That might not sound like a huge thing to everyone.

For me, it is.
